Terms of Service

Effective date: July 1, 2026

These Terms of Service govern the use of services provided by Massage Maven. By booking or attending an appointment, or by using our website, you agree to these terms.

1. Appointments

Appointments may be booked online, by telephone, email, or in person. Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Late arrivals may result in a shortened treatment while the full appointment fee may still apply.

2. Cancellations and Missed Appointments

We require a minimum of 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged up to the full appointment fee.

Clients who do not attend a scheduled appointment without notice may be charged the full appointment fee and may be required to prepay for future appointments.

3. Fees and Payment

Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed. We accept cash, debit and credit card, online payment, and direct billing to most insurance providers in Alberta.

Prices may change without prior notice.

4. Health Information

To ensure safe and appropriate treatment, clients must provide accurate and current health information, including:

  • Medical conditions
  • Injuries
  • Allergies
  • Pregnancy
  • Medications
  • Recent surgeries or changes in health

Failure to disclose relevant information may affect the safety or effectiveness of treatment.

5. Massage Therapy Services

Massage therapy is intended to support relaxation, stress reduction, pain management, and general wellness. It is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment.

Our therapists do not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medication, or perform medical procedures. Clients should consult an appropriate healthcare provider for medical concerns.

6. Consent

Your informed consent is required before treatment begins.

You may:

  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Request changes to pressure, techniques, or areas being treated
  • Ask questions before or during treatment

7. Professional Conduct

Our clinic maintains a safe and respectful environment.

Any inappropriate, abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or sexually suggestive behaviour toward staff or therapists will result in immediate termination of the appointment. Full payment may still be required, and future appointments may be declined.

8. Privacy

We collect, use, and protect personal information in accordance with applicable Alberta privacy laws. For full details on what we collect, how we use it, and your rights, see our Privacy Policy.

9. Insurance Benefits

If you submit claims to an insurance provider:

  • You are responsible for confirming your coverage and eligibility
  • You remain responsible for all fees not paid by your insurer
  • The clinic is not responsible for denied or delayed insurance claims

10. Personal Property

The clinic is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings.

11. Limitation of Liability

We strive to provide safe, professional care consistent with accepted massage therapy practices.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under Alberta law. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for claims arising from services provided is limited to the amount paid for the treatment giving rise to the claim.

12. Refusal or Discontinuation of Service

We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue treatment when:

  • Treatment is contraindicated
  • A client appears impaired by drugs or alcohol
  • A client behaves in a threatening, abusive, or inappropriate manner
  • Continuing treatment would be unsafe or inconsistent with professional standards

13. Minors

Clients under 18 years of age must have consent from a parent or legal guardian before treatment. The clinic may require a parent or guardian to remain on the premises or be present during treatment, depending on the client's age and circumstances.

14. Website Use

You may use our website for lawful, personal, and non-commercial purposes. You agree not to misuse the site, attempt unauthorized access to our systems, copy or exploit our content without permission, or interfere with the website's operation.
