Please plan to arrive a few minutes early so that you can complete our patient intake form and review treatments with your therapist.

We offer a range of treatment durations, but an average full-body massage treatment that focuses on one or two problem areas lasts approximately one hour. Releasing tension takes time, complete full-body therapeutic treatment often requires multiple visits.

Most people can benefit from massage. However, massage may not be appropriate if you have:

  • Bleeding disorders or take blood-thinning medication

  • Burns or healing wounds

  • Deep vein thrombosis

  • Fractures

  • Severe osteoporosis

  • Severe thrombocytopenia

Most people feel very relaxed, especially when they start to move and realize those long term aches and tension have been relieved. After a deeper massage you might feel some muscle soreness, similar to a the feeling after a workout.

It’s important to hydrate after a massage to flush the toxins and metabolic wastes released by your healing muscles.

Your massage will take place in a warm, comfortable, room on a table for most massages. You’ll have the option of heating the table and listening to soft music  to help you relax.

For a full body massage, you should undress to the point where you feel comfortable. Clothing and undergarments can prevent access to pressure points and get in the way of long strokes. Your therapist will give you privacy while you undress, and you will be covered with a sheet and blanket at all times except the area being worked on.

Depending on the techniques and your preference, massage can vary from smooth flowing strokes to direct pressure on areas of tension. Do not hesitate to ask questions or mention if you feel any discomfort so that the massage therapist can use another approach or technique.
